Future Simple

 We use will /going to/ shall to mark the future simple. But, in this lesson, I focus primarily on ‘Will’ and ‘shall’.

យើងប្រើ will /going to/ shall ដើម្បីនិយាយអំពីអនាគតកាលធម្មតា។ប៉ុន្តែក្នុងមេរៀននេះ ខ្ញុំផ្ដោតលើ Will’ and ‘shall’ ប៉ុណ្ណោះ។

Past perfect continuous tense

Study this situation:

Yesterday, Dave and Susan went to the park to do aerobics. They did it for an hour and they took a rest. They both sat on a bench. Then Mr. Bob came to talk to them. Seeing a lot of sweat on their body, he asked, “had you been doing exercise?” “Yes, we had been doing aerobics for an hour before you arrived” they answered.

            Yesterday Miss. Sophea​​ went to join a friend’s birthday. Her friend, Mr. Chandara , wanted to meet her at the birthday party in that they had not met each other for a few months. Unfortunately, when Mr. Chandara got there, Miss. Sophea had left for home already.  So they both didn’t meet.

            Yesterday, Vuthy taught his part –time students as usual. He started at 5 and finished at 7 pm.  Thirty minutes later, when he was explaining the lesson to the students, one of his friends, Eng Tith, called to invite him to eat something. Vuthy wanted to go, but he couldn’t because he was trying to finish his lesson. However, he promised to go after class.

            The underlined sentences are called the past continuous tense.

          It is a bit confusing whether to use the present perfect simple or continuous tense. Sometimes there is no or a little difference between the two; however, there are some cases obliging us to use one of them.

         ជម្រើសក្នុងការប្រើ the  present perfect simple ឬ continuous tense មានលក្ខណៈច្របូកច្របល់ខ្លះដែរ។ ពេលខ្លះមិនមានភាពខុសគ្នាទេ ឬខុសគ្នាបន្តិចបន្តួចរវាងកាលទាំងពីរ។ទោះជាយ៉ាងណា ករណីមួយចំនួនតម្រូវឪ្យយើងប្រើកាលតែមួយប៉ុណ្ណោះ។
